Danish Paint Decorated Secretary

Two part Danish secretary with original painted surface dated 1839. Primitive graining on both sections provides a background for decorative panels with floral sprays. Behind the drop front are banks of drawers and recesses. The two doors in the top section open onto two shelves, on with spoon slots, and a pair of drawers with burled fronts. The pair of monograms at the top indicate that this piece was originally a wedding gift.
